Uncommon Chord is a pop-jazz vocal ensemble in New York City. Since 1994, they have performed countless works by The Real Group, Gene Puerling, Deke Sharon, and other legends from the a cappella world, as well as dozens of original arrangements. UC performs both unaccompanied and with a jazz rhythm section.
Scott Stein is a Brooklyn-based pianist, songwriter, composer, arranger and conductor. He is an in-demand collaborator whose multi-faceted career has allowed him to share the stage with such diverse acts as Broadway diva Rachel York, ex-Band drummer / vocalist Levon Helm and American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis. Currently, Scott is the conductor of four vocal ensembles and a faculty member at the CAP21 musical theater conservatory as well as the Jewish Theological Seminary. He has music directed several notable productions of new musicals including shows at NYMF and the NY Fringe Festival. Scott is also a performing singer/songwriter of note, appearing frequently at clubs around the city and touring in support of his latest album, Traveling Companion.
